The course is aimed at students of engineering studies. The course participants will be introduced to the basics of structural health evaluation and monitoring in industrial applications. The presented issues will involve the reasons for the introduction of SHM (Structural Health Monitoring) and NDT (Nondestructive Testing) technologies as well as their operational principles, including the methods of data acquisition, processing, and interpretation using the methods of artificial intelligence. The applications presented during the course will demonstrate synergy between different branches of engineering using a mechatronic approach.
The course is realized in the form of online classes during five days. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with teachers and ask questions during online classes. Classes will involve a combination of theoretical lectures, practical presentations, and discussion panels to present the knowledge in an attractive and accessible manner. The lecturers will share their theoretical knowledge as well as considerable practical and industrial experience to reinforce the significance of SHM and NDT methods.
The classes are realized at the AGH University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, which is one of the oldest and largest faculties of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. Thanks to our achievements, we rank among the best faculties in mechatronics in Poland and the entire world. We have educated thousands of graduates who now hold high posts in industry, higher education, or state administration in many countries on all continents. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics combines theory with practice, so that our graduates, during their future professional careers, are able effectively to use the knowledge obtained during their studies. In the year 2016 the Faculty received the accreditation of ABET for the program of studies in Mechatronic Engineering.
